We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM. Before and after care hours may vary slightly by program. Contact us to discuss your family's specific schedule — we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
We follow a holiday calendar and will communicate all closures in advance. In the case of weather-related closures, we will notify families as early as possible — typically by 6:00 AM on the day of closure — via our communication channels.
We maintain a high staff-to-child ratio — meaning more caregivers per child than the state requires. This is one of the things we're most proud of. More hands on deck means every child gets genuine, individualized attention throughout the day, not just when they ask for it. We're happy to share the exact numbers by age group when you come in for a tour.
We ask that children stay home when they are unwell. If a child becomes sick during the day, we will contact parents promptly. We follow standard exclusion policies (fever, vomiting, etc.) to keep all children and staff healthy. We'll provide you with our full illness policy at enrollment.
Absolutely. Every member of our team undergoes thorough background screening before joining Little Oaks. Your child's safety is always our first and non-negotiable priority. Our staff are also trained in CPR and first aid.
Yes — we use the Creative Curriculum, a widely respected, research-based program for both infants/toddlers and preschoolers. It emphasizes responsive caregiving, exploration, and play-based learning that builds real skills in early literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development.
Outdoor play is a daily priority at Little Oaks — not an afterthought. Children get meaningful outdoor time every single day, weather permitting, across all seasons. Fresh air, physical movement, and nature exploration are woven into our curriculum as essential parts of healthy child development.
Our teachers observe children regularly and document milestones and progress through the Creative Curriculum framework. We share this information with families through regular updates and scheduled check-ins, so you're always in the loop on how your child is growing and what they're working on.
Spots at Little Oaks fill quickly — especially for our infant program. To join our waitlist, reach out via our contact form or give us a call. We recommend reaching out as early as possible; many families plan 3–6 months ahead, particularly for infant enrollment.
Yes! We accept childcare subsidies and vouchers. We believe quality care should be accessible to every family, and we're happy to work with you to apply any assistance you're eligible for. Reach out to us directly and we'll walk you through the process.
We ask for reasonable advance notice if you need to withdraw enrollment. Specific terms will be outlined in your enrollment agreement. If your family's needs change, we encourage you to reach out to us as early as possible so we can work together on the best path forward.
Yes — diapers, wipes, and pull-ups are all included in your tuition. We take care of the essentials so you have one less thing to think about. Just let us know of any brand preferences or sensitivities and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Yes! We proudly offer a tuition discount for first responders, teachers, and medical staff — because the people who show up for our community deserve support too. We are also a proud partner of HMH Southern Ocean Medical Center, located right next door, and extend our discount to their staff as part of that partnership. Please mention your profession when you reach out and we'll apply the discount to your enrollment.
We'll provide a personalized supply list when you enroll. Generally, children bring a change of clothes, any comfort items, and a labeled water bottle. Diapers, wipes, and pull-ups are included in tuition — no need to pack those. Snacks are available for purchase — you'll receive a menu to choose from during enrollment.
Snacks are available for purchase. During your tour and at enrollment, we'll share a full snack menu so you can choose what works best for your child. We accommodate common allergies and dietary restrictions — just let us know what to keep in mind.
We keep families connected with daily communication about your child's day — including snacks, nap times, activities, and any notable moments. We use Brightwheel to send regular updates straight to your phone, so you're always in the loop. For infants and toddlers, this is even more detailed. You'll always feel close to your child's experience, even while you're apart.

What families are saying

"

Liz is truly wonderful with children. She has a naturally warm and inviting demeanor that immediately makes kids feel comfortable and loved. My son absolutely loves going to daycare because he feels so welcomed, cared for, and happy there. The new learning academy is absolutely beautiful! Its earthy colors create such a nurturing, calming environment. I'm so grateful my son has a place where he can be creative, have fun, and spend his time in a space that feels both inspiring and supportive.

I have never put my two-year-old in daycare until now and don't regret it. I decided to give Little Oaks an opportunity and I can see how much my daughter enjoys being there with Miss. Nicole and Mrs. Liz. She is always happy when we arrive and has improved with her verbal skills, cleaning up, and basic commands. I love that they are very nurturing. Thank you for treating my daughter with love and respect.
